Paisley wins bid to host the Royal National Mod in 2013
Posted on behalf of Renfrewshire Council Leader Derek Mackay:
'Paisley offers more than fantastic venues, excellent transport links and terrific facilities. We are at the heart of the west of Scotland, making us easily accessible to the Gaelic diaspora. We offer a community commitment to ensure that the Mod is a success and a willingness to engage at all levels for the future development of Gaelic.' Tonight we have received notification from An Comunn Gaidhealach that Paisley has won the bid to host the Royal National Mod in 2013. I am sure you will all be delighted with this news. This is another major achievement for Paisley and will build upon the hard work being done to regenerate our town centre. In addition to the economic boost, this will provide a cultural showcase for Paisley and Renfrewshire.
I would like to thank you all for supporting our original bid, and I am in no doubt that we will all work together to deliver a first class Mod.

Volunteers
The Paisley Festival is organised by volunteers but we need more help with all aspects of the event. If you have time to spare and are interested in helping out in a range of roles, contact us to volunteer.

The Board of Directors is looking to expand its numbers and would be pleased to hear from anyone, particularly in the business community, who thinks they might have something to offer.
Concert Diary
Paisley choirs regularly present concerts during the year and these are detailed on this site as appropriate. We also list events by groups who are not members but whose concerts might be of interest to you so check out Associated Events to find performances to suit a variety of musical tastes eg orchestral performances and 'Come & Sing' events.
